I'm a 7th generation Texan. But while my ancestors rarely strayed more than a day’s wagon ride from home, I've traveled to about every continent. I even cheated on my state with a three-year stint in Miami. It was my first advertising gig out of school: Crispin Porter + Bogusky. In many ways, it was a dream job with talented people, fearless clients, and all of the industry acclaim that comes from that rare combination.

But...Texas was calling.

I had long admired The Richards Group, and in 2006 was lucky enough for Stan to bring me onboard. Since then, I've worked for clients such as Chick-fil-A,The Salvation Army, Fiat, Dr Pepper, Choctaw Casino, and many others.

In 2014, I became a Creative Group Head at the agency. I've managed brands such as the Propane Council, Pie Five Pizza, Grady Hospital and UCHealth.

These days, my wife Janet and I stay busy with our little boy Preston. I also play the fiddle in a western swing band. And in the unlikely event that western swing ever makes a comeback, I'm quitting this whole advertising thing.
